Chrome door handles...
#16
My personal opinion is chrome trim pieces look cheap. Who wants to call attention to door handles? Customizers even go to the expense of "shaving" them to call LESS attention to them. Same with the door pillars IMHO.
I think the normal thing among a lot of people is they need to change things from stock to make it their own. That's fine if that's what you want, and you have the discretionary funds to do it. I'm personally a big fan of some aftermarket wheels, (especially given the Lexus peel and flake wheel variety), but I believe in the case of door handles and pillars, Lexus got it right. Again, just my opinion.

For those that looked....
So might as well update this, but i got the eBay ones, and i may as well post up the pics. BTW, i had these handles for weeks, just waiting for a day where i'd have a super detailed car and CLEAN handles to apply to...
*pics shot with a Blackberry 8900. so no DSLR quality here!
Notes: the quality is surprisingly good, and the fit [initially] was almost 100%, had to work in the edges to stick and adhere with the 3M tape on the OEM handles. All-in-all, I'm very happy for a 20$ product, as it does look good IMO, and it sets the car off that much more. I feel as if i fulfilled what was 'missing' before. It's a nice simple accent.

Great! Can you post the link of the place you got these from?
Thanks.

I got a pair from ebay and after a couple of weeks the adhesive started to pull apart. It also felt weird on my when I put my hand on the door handle because it only covers half of it. I just remember taking it off because it became such a hassle.

Lexus Test Driver
To each his own. It's all good. $40K car with $20 covers.... I am getting the OEM ones next week for about $130.

If these are truly made in taiwan, these should last. The ones made in Japan are actually good.
Quick question, do you think it will be easy to peel it off in case you decide to remove it?
Some of the ones on ebay are the cheap ones and the chrome plating sucks, nd the adhesive used is not 3M.
I think I will go for it as long as the option to remove is easy and no damage can occur.
Thanks again.

^^ I'm sure it wouldn't be too much of a hassle to do so.
Like others stated, 20$ well spent. If it lasts, great! If not, i will peel them off.
I added a few strips of 3M on the odd parts for better adhesion, so far so good, it has lasted thru much hughway driving, crazy rainfalls, high winds.

Pulled the trigger, here goes the $20 2008 upgrade. Thanks for the advise.

Yup, your gonna "feel" it's not the OEM full replacements every time you open the door. Fine $20 is $20. But it's almost impossible to get stuff 3rd party that is ever quite as good as OEM. Yes you save $$ but.... Just my experience.

$130 for the 4? Plus the labor of course.
