RX 400H 60,000 mile service Help
Hi All -
I have a 2006 RX400h and I am due for the 60,000 mile service. The problem is I am tired of paying these crazy prices.
I talked to my local delership today and the service is $1255! Not repairs just to look at it for the 60k service. I have not had any problems and dont expect repairs but still $1255???
Question is does anyone have any recomendations as to where I could take my car for the service? I live in the Palm Springs area in California.
Any help or thoughts are appreciated.

Most dealerships have their own "menu" of maintenance requirements, Hence the OVER the top prices.
4wd or 2WD ?
This is straight from the owners manual:
72 Months or 60,000 Miles
S C H E D U L E D M A I N T E N A N C E L O G
o Replace engine oil and oil filter1
o Measure brake pad thickness and
rotor runout
o Replace brake fluid
o Replace engine air filter
o Replace transmission fluid(2)
o Inspect nuts and bolts on chassis(2)
o Replace air conditioner filter
o Replace rear differential fluid(2)
o Rotate tires
o Road-test vehicle
o Inspect the following:
1 Reset the oil replacement reminder (“MAINT REQD”)
light after replacing engine oil.
2 Required only if vehicle is operated primarily in desert,
on dirt roads or while towing.
3 Add only Genuine Toyota Super Long-Life Coolant or
similar high-quality non-silicate, non-amine, non-borate
ethylene-glycol coolant with long-life hybrid organic acid
technology (i.e., a combination of low phosphates and
organic acids).
____Fuel tank cap gasket
____Rack and pinion assembly
____Rear axle shaft flange bolt torque2
____Rear differential fluid
____Steering linkage and boots
____Transmission fluid
I'm thinking around 6-$700 tops, parts and labor for ^^these^^ work at a dealer, being yours a Hybrid.

Check the Scheduled Maintenance manual for your vehicle. They are not all the same. Some newer models with world standard transmission fluid do not require the replacement for the life of the car. Hybrids will also have additional maintenance requirements.

Hybrids will also have additional maintenance requirements
That's 1 less fluid change.
Some dealers are charging more on Hybrids because of additional services they add onto the service menu.
Owners manual maintenance requirements states otherwise.

It sounds like something Lexus would do. When a friend of mine has his 400h serviced, it always costs him a little more.
