Default Installed 9005 LED DRL's But They Don't Work

I install one DRL bulb and it works fine and looks great, when I install the other one, they both quit working. Any ideas what the problem is? Is it the wattage?

Try switching sides to see if the problem follows you. May have gotten a bad bulb.

I agree, swap them to see if they both work. One could be bad.

I thought you could not use led lights for the DRL since they double as the high-beams. LED's need a constant draw and the DRL use 50% power when not used as highs.

I believe you lose the high beams which is not a good idea for aesthetics.

which LEDs did you get? I'm looking to get some in mine too. I think you need a load resistor for it to work. http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/D...01806-1-3.html

Read the "1 review" posted within the above link. A resistor is required.

i might be WAY wrong on this.. don't LED's have ONE way to install it?

i dont know how to say it in electrical terms.. but it does matter which side +/- goes in.. unlike a regular bulb right? (at least for 192/168 size, this matter)

well.. maybe the 9006 has a base where u can only install it one way..

I'm a few years late on this but to clear things up, you can only install a 9005 LED one way because of the casing it fits into. And yes you need a resistor to make them work since they're only getting 50% of the power until the bright lights are engaged.
