04 RX330 Spring on Center Console Cup holder broke have apart need help!
2004 RX330 Spring on Center Console Cup holder broke have apart need help! Have removed
center console and removed cup holder. found another spring but do not know how it goes back on. Any pics would be a big help or a diagram. Found one for the RX300 but the 330's & 60's are different. I also need to know how to remove left side air vent to fix that cup holder...it does not eject. TIA

Could you please post a picture to show the current state of breakage? There are a couple of pieces there and am not sure which one you are referring to. The photo will help.

I hope these photo's make sense to you. I don't know where one end of the spring goes or how to get it there. I love my SUV 157,000 miles and is like new. Thanks for the help! http://i654.photobucket.com/albums/uu267/boatable/RX300%20Drink%20holder/IMG_2044.jpg

That small detent on the spring is what locks into position to create to tension/recoil in the spring. It has to be wound in the compressed position in order to create the proper return of the spring. The way the pictures show, there is no "pre-wound" tension in the spring.

I have this exact same issue and was excited to find all these pics! A couple questions:
1. Was there one clip/spring or two (one on each side)? When I pulled my console apart the spring fell out and now I'm trying to put it back together but could only find 1 spring.
2. How did you get it in??
Thanks!

Well, figured it out so thought I'd post a pic of where the other end goes (I also had the plastic piece holding the screw on the wrong end) in case someone else is in the same predicament.
Now the issue is the "swivel" still doesn't correctly open the top when the top lid is pressed down (supposed to release the hatch or something). I'm not sure if I'm missing a spring or something that is supposed to push the little white latch into the black plastic to release the device?? Does anyone know if there is supposed to be a little spring there as well?

... and here is a better pic of the hole I'm talking about. Wondering if there is supposed to be a spring or piece of metal of some sort to keep the white piece pushed off to the side like that as otherwise it won't open!

A few questions - how did you get to the spring in the dis-assembly and has anyone bought the replacement springs? I was just at the dealer and they quoted me $430 to replace my worn out springs in the center console. My door opens but doesn't close. Any suggestions? We have a 2006 RX 400H
