Default side mirrors

Anyone have any issues with intermittant side mirror operation? When you put it in reverse, sometimes the mirrors move down and in and sometimes they do not. I'd hate to take it back to the dealer if I don't have too.....

Thanks.

Sometimes the mirrors are just jammed and it needs re-set.

Means you need to move it a bit and it would be OK again.

I actually think sometimes the mirrors go down too much. I think I would like it better if they didn't move in reverse so drasatically.

If the "Master Switch" (the one that selects Left/Right) for adjusting the mirrors is in the neutral position they will not move when you shift to reverse.

This is described in the owner's manual

joeinHNL is correct. My wife just reported this same issue to me and I read my manual and found the same info. It's nice that there is a defeat setting for the side mirrors tilt down.

With the engine on and the tranny in Park, move the mirrors up, down and side ways several times to lossen them up. Then move them back to how you want them and reset them for you. Then put the car in reverse and see if they move down like they are suppose to. If not, take your RX to the dealer and have them fix the issue while it's still in warranty. Both mirrors on my ES330 had to fixed because of this issue with the motors that move the mirror.
