Default Great Deal on Extended Warranty

We bought a new RX400h in April but I decided to defer the purchase of an extended warranty until later in the year. Now have 6800 miles on car and returned to dealer this AM to buy the warranty. I had done some serious shopping for the plan I wanted (7 years, 75K miles, Platinum) including dealers mentioned on this site and sponsor dealerships for the site. I beat the best offered price from those by more than $500. If you're interested, call Brian Davis, Business Manager at Plaza Lexus (St. Louis), at 314-919-8141.

Did you get the 7 years, 75K, ZERO deductible Platinum? How much did it cost you? Do not tell me you got it for $1,250?

I've heard that Troy Dietrich at Toyota of Greenfield prices are $150 over cost.I've bought a warranty from him in the past.
A 7/100 Platimum on a '07 Camry XLE for $880.Dealer wanted $1495.

The profit margin on extended warranties is 90%, meaning for every $100 collected they pay $10 in repairs. There are better deals on such warranties, but no "great" deals...

I would not suggest buying an warranty that is not upto 100k.

I would also suggest buying only Lexus warranty (just my opinion and I have no vested interest).

With multiple cars, I suggest take all the premium and put in the bank. With 3 cars, you will most likely come ahead.
