Power Rear Door closes immediately when opened with remote / front button.
Hello All,
I recently bought a used 2006 RX330. So far happy with it. One issue is that when I open the rear liftgate using the button in the front or using the remote, the door opens fully and then as if somebody pressed the button again, it starts closing down.
If I manually open it, it stays put. And I can close using any mechanism without any issue.
Also, Once I do this manual way once then the button and the remote work fine to open / close.
The problem repeats again once I start the engine and turn it off (or if I try after some time, I guess)
Sounds weird, any suggestions please?

send it to a dealership for a check. i almost never open the rear door manually but i've never run into the problem you described.
since it's a 2006 model, it might still be under warranty.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, the warranty expired couple months ago and only Powertrain warranty remains.
I took the car to the Lexus dealer for a duplicate key and a VSC light issue. They were able to see this problem also and said they need "investigating time ($$$)" to check this issue further. As it was still working mostly, I thought I will wait and worry about it later.
