Have your refrigerant level checked for starters.

if you drove through a puddle, water may have entered the engine compartment where the belt is. It shuts down the AC as a precaution. usually restarting the car/turning off and on the AC again resets it.

RXSF:

Is there any solution to stop the AC switching off when driving through a puddle?

Default A/c light flashing

Most likely the magnetic clutch relay failed. Ive done plenty of those on the older RX. Parts are around $70 and labor is $55. If the drive belts get wet the the car will shut down the a/c and you will see the light flash. All lexus cars have that.

It has to do with some safety of the compressor. Details escape me, but all I care is that it normal.

it is just a safety machanism. No big problem here. Just switch it back on after it switches off.

Yep, safety of compressor and your pocket book.

Bonus points for who ever finds the reason behind it.

Default A/c light flashing

The reason behind it is if the drive belts get wet and start to slip, there are sensors on the pully that read this and shut off the compressor. If the belts happen to slip off, the the compressor locks up and the must be towed. Lexus
does this to prevent that from happening. Every Lexus car has this feature.
Also, if this a/c lights flashes when it is dry out then your Magnetic clutch relay is failing. It is a repair that costs under $200.
