Power liftgate not working :(
#17
My liftgate does not work at all on 2007 rx400h. I was told I need the trunk lid tailgate hatch motor mechanism. Any ideas where I can get one other than the dealer, which is outrageously expensive. Also anyone know the part number for this mechanism? I would appreciate your help!!
best bet would be used with a limited warranty to save some $$$...

Power lift gate not working
Most of the time I can open it manually. It started about a year ago first falling on my head. Then I could push it open and it usually would stay. Now sometimes it just totally freezes and I can't open it at all. If I wait a few hours, it may open or then again may not. The inside button doesn't open it either.
I found a mechanic who got a used one and will install it for about $400. Lexus wanted about $1300 for a new one. Do you think that is too much? He is reputable and does good work, but ......I'm not sure what to do.
Have a great day!!

Here is a link to give an idea to what is involved for getting to the motor......

If I feel a little unsure with a repair, I will snap photos of the disassembly to make sure nothing is forgotten & to know where everything goes for the assembly when replacing the part.
