Default Electrical questions re door locks, garage opener

Hi folks -

I have two questions on an '04 RX330:

First, the doors currently unlock (all of them) when you shift from drive into park. I would prefer that the doors stay locked. Is this a possible setting? Is this a setting that can be done myself, or only by the dealer?

Second, I've recently noticed that the garage door opener will open my door even if the ignition is switched off. Is this normal? Can it be changed?

Both are obviously security issues that I would like to address.

Thanks,
Chip

Yes to the first question. Your dealer can reprogram the C-BEST setting to not unlock all the doors when you shift into Park.

Nothing I'm aware of to accomplish the second.

Thanks. Can you confirm that the garage operation with ignition off is normal?

I wonder if I can switch to an ignition-powered wire instead of constant without it losing programming every time it turns off...

I don't think so, if you do ignition-powered, the memory will be gone and you will have to reprogram every time you turn off.

This is completely normal, I use it all the time to open my garage when I am outside doing yard work or when I leave for work in the morning I open the garage door before starting the engine.

Both my RX 350 and Avalanche have this feature and I love it, no more ugly opener clipped to the visor.
