Default CEL & VSC light on right after oil change at a garage

I just moved to a new place, and yesterday took my car to so called the largest store in Ithaca,NY area (autoworks). I brought my own 0w-40 mobil oil and large filter and asked them to do a oil change and trip check.

they had my car ready in 1 hr, but throw a half bottle unfinished oil in the passenger side without tightening the cap and the oil was all over! luckily i had all weather rubber...they cleaned it...and told me they've done the trip check everything was fine!

After driving for 20 mins the CEL and VSC came on...shoot...i never had any light on before...drove home cooled the car and started again to see whether it would go away...again no luck...looked around engine bay with a flashlight to make sure no losing hose....found the oil was all over the plastic underbelly cover and the cover was not tightened...

pissed...how could they don't even know how to get a simple oil change done?

drove back this morning...the service guy had a really bad attitube saying it has nothing to do with them....

checked OBD, o2 sensor problem (i remember it's P0150 - O2 Sensor Circuit Malfunction Bank 2 Sensor 1)....

Is it really an O2 sensor problem? normally it's not, especially a Lexus.

It is probably the air filter hoses that are disconnected when they did your oil change. Check that. Also, you need to make sure none of the hoses under the hood is unplugged. I would never let an oil change shop do my oil change. I either have it serviced by the toyota dealer(~$50) or i do it myself!

A bad o2 sensor has nothing to do with the oil change unless they damaged the sensor by racking up improperly somehow.
Coincidence!

You bought a lexus, why not take your car to the people who works on them every day?

What is lexus famous for? World class customer service experience! Try it!

One of the leading reasons for O2 sensor failures beyond normal wear and tear is due to sloppy techs dripping fluids on hot sensors. Easy way to ruin them.

Second the note on tightening hoses. Happened to me once and that solved it.
