How do we dim the clock?
We just brought home a 2007 RX400h. It's got navigation, and has an ever-so-bright clock in the center of the dash. The gauges dimming **** dims it a bit, but nowhere near as much as the gauges. At night it's annoyingly bright. Is there some secret way to make it dimmer? And maybe make the colon stop blinking?

Congrats! Next time you are in the dealer, ask them. Or else go to nthe 400H threads. Good luck.

I asked here because it appears it's the same clock as in an rx 350 with navigation. The dealer we bought it from is 3 hours away. Nearest dealer is just over an hour, not sure if I want to go there as I'm still unhappy about their salesman trying to BS me. Next nearest dealer is 75-90 minutes away.

I asked my dealer this very queston when we got ours; response was that there is no way to change the LSD brightness. Seems strange, but true! Unless someone else here has discivered a methd?

This might be a last-resort, but if I was having this problem, I would look for a piece of window-tint film that I could cut and place over the clock. If you cut it right, you won't notice it anymore and it could dramatically dim the clock (based on the type film you use).
As I think about it... If you wanted to do this, just go to a stereo install place that does window tinting and I bet they'd be happy to help for little or nothing. They have plenty of scrap pieces of tint hanging around.
