Sorry, that's a bummer for you. The only route would be to get a regular painted one and have it painted your color. Just like what was suggested.

You can not paint on chrome, so you will have to sell them if you ever do it.

Let me know if you ever go that route, I will take them off your hands.

thanks for all the info guys
unfortunately my pocket is kind of not that deep at the moment
buying door hadles and then re-paint them in obsidian black
that sounds like a lot of money......
