.Unfortunately it didn't come with a navigation system but I couldn't turn down this deal.. It's a beautiful 05 330 with 35k for only 20,500.

Is it possible to purchase a navi head unit / brain from a wreck, etc.
and plug it right up? I'm wondering if the wires and that backup camera, etc are installed in every RX and they put the navi unit in as an option.

Any insight is greatly appreciated.

I think it would be possible, not sure if you would want to go through all the trouble of installing it and also wiring the GPS antenna. Again I am not 100% positive. Why not just go with a portable GPS unit like the Garmin Nuvi which will go for much less?

I have a nice nuvi but I love that backup camera. It could prevent my wife from hammering this bumper into a guardrail, lol.

I think the stock antenna may also be in there also, no? I know a lot of BMW's etc are all prewired for options
and you can simply add components later.

If it's prewired for towing, there are aftermarket backup cameras for less than $100. They use the power supplied by the reverse lights (through the trailer wiring harness) and 2.4 Ghz wireless from the camera to a little monitor in the cabin.

I would want it to be how the RX with navi came from the factory if it was at all possible though.
