LEDs are very different, they draw current that is exponentially proportional to voltage. They need an actual circuit, called a current regulator, to take the 12 V and turn it into a constant current draw.

The Lexus has a control circuit for these lights that turns it on and off slowly. That circuit expects to see a resistive filament bulb load, not some sort of LED current regulator.

So the question is this: is the dimmer circuit in the Lexus compatible with the LED current regulator? If it is not, then the dimmer circuit will eventually fail, causing a big expense (non warranty) to fix.
But the circuit draw for a LED is so much lower that it will never damage the dimming circuit.

How do you know that? Is there a spec for the LED array somewhere? 36 LEDs COULD easily draw more current than one bulb.

A typical SMT LED draws about 0.1 Watt. The OP had a 6 LED array which is 0.6 watts, way lower than the oem bulb. Even the 36 LED array is only 3.6 Watts, which is about the same as the OEM bulb.

thank you for the support!!

I had customer who has some 36 led board in his car before he purchase my 6 led board.

He can tells the difference between 36 and 6 right away.

More is NOT always better!

Also, the bigger it is, the less chance that you can reuse it or relocate it to some other housing.

So far my 6 led board can fit everywhere that for lexus car and i have never heart anyone says my led board is NOT bright enough to their previous one.

I hope you all enjoy the led light.

thanks a lot

Nigel
