2006 rx400h mp3 options... any?
Hi, all.
Longtime lurker, and now proud new owner of a 2006 RX400h; got a fairly good price on a model with only 22,000km on it (Canadian, sorry no miles!) and am quite pleased with virtually every aspect of the ride so far...
... except ...
My dealer told me that the 6CD Mark Levinson audio system played MP3 CDs, but lo and behold I put one in and got nothing. Another, still nothing. Yet more, nothing. I go a-Googlin', and find out that, sadly, it doesn't seem that the ML Audio System plays MP3 files.
This is quite disappointing for a luxury car like this... I can live with a 6CD changer but I have so many MP3 CDs, and I'm too lazy to change my music often. So my question is this:
a) are there any options on replacing the 2006rx400h's non-MP3 stereo system with the 2007/2008rx400h's mp3 stereo system?
b) i'm planning on picking up a cassette adapter for using my portable MP3 player, but is there a less "ghetto" solution? I'd like to be able to pop a disc full of MP3 music into my car and have it play!
c) if none of the above are available, what am i to do?
Going to talk to my dealer about this over the next couple of days, but was hoping that someone here had any ideas. Not looking to spend a TON of cash as I've already done that on the car, but maybe some of you have had enough with 1980s CD technology and converted their rx400h at least to mid-90s MP3 technology?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
