Default Detail Question

I'm cleaning and detailing my 08 RX350 and have a simple question. Is the dash leather or vinyl ? Just want to use the right cleaner. Also what cleaner do you use for the dash, seats and carpet ?

It's vinyl. I use Meguiar's Quik Interior Detailer on mine. No shine and UVA and UVB protection. FOr the leather seats I use the Lexus Cleaner and conditioner pair. On the carpeting I use Meguiar's Quick Out if it gets that dirty. Usually just a regular brushing and vacuuming is enough.

The protection against UV damage is more important than the cleaning, which can be done with almost any cleaner. For protection and a very pleasing, non-greasy look, investigate 303 Aerospace Protectant; use it on the dash and on the gaskets around doors, windows, sun roof, etc, as well as on tires, where it will prevent the rubber from breaking down due to exposure to the sun.
Highly recommended.

One has to admit that Lexus dash does not disintegrates with UV. So any thing you do, should not compromise the factory finish.

There is a wealth of information out in CL special interest group .. detailing.

+1 You can use 303 AP on the INTERIOR without hesitation or 2nd guessing, leather too. I used to use it on everything interior, as it protects and cleans very well.
