I am thinking of installing the clear headlight and fog light films that protect against stone and debris breakage. Anyone done this themselves and what product did you use ? Any helpful tips would be appreciated.

I have done it - it isn't exactly easy, especially for large pieces and on compound surfaces - lights are easier as they are relatively flat and one contour that isn't too tight. Basically you just activate the glue on the back of the clear shield stuff with water mixed with a little alcohol and just squeagy it out and that is about it - a hair dryer or heat gun can help to get it to streatch and get creases out, but it shouldn't be necessary on the lights.

If the car isn't really new (08 so you may have had it for a year already) you might want to go to the autoparts store and get some fo the headlight lense polish to clean them up a bit before you start and then clean them well with a little dish soap and then alcohol!
