Question What other parts needed to replace front brake pads?

My service tech told me that I need to replace my front brake pads on my RX 330 as I only had 2mm left.

He quoted me $325 to replace the brake pads (parts/labor)

I thought that I could save some money at least on parts by ordering from Sewell, but I don't know what else I need besides the pads as Sewell's site also mentions these two things:

1. Front brake shim kit (part #04945-48080) for $31.75 -- site advises: "Lexus brake shims offer are the combatant to loud noises caused from brakes. The inclusion of a brake shim between the brake pad and back plate (or piston) greatly reduces the likelihood of resonance instability or commonly referred to as “brake squeal”. This type of squeal should not negatively affect brake stopping performance, but at times can be an annoyance to the vehicle passengers, passerby, pedestrians and others especially as today’s modern luxury vehicles are designed for comfort and quiet.

Recommended replacement – at time of brake pad change"

2. Lexus Front Brake Fit Kit (part #04947-48050) for $11.34 -- site advises: "The Lexus fitting kit is the brake hardware used to provide proper fitment with individual brake pads to the caliper and bracket. Brake fit kits are usually replaced at the time of brake pad replacement but are considered to be optional based on wear and inspection. The fit kit is a key component to the braking system."

So, besides the brake pads, do I need #1 and/or #2? I'd ask my service tech but it's Sunday today and I wanted to put the order in now so that I get the parts before I bring my car in on Friday.

Prices are before applying the discount code.

Thanks for any help!

Just get the pads and the Brake grease (you apply this between the shim and the pad) everything else should be re-usable. Replace both front and rear pads. I did a write up here, use the search.

Didn't find these on my initial search. Thanks!
