Default 255/50/18 Toyo Proxes S/T

I'm thinking of purchasing Toyo Proxes S/T for my next set of tires on my RX330 and going a little wider at 255/50/18.

I like this size because the height of the tire is almost exactly the same as the standard 235/55/18 size so it won't mess with my speedometer/odometer reading, it will just put a little more rubber on the road and in my opinion, look better. My OE Goodyear 235/55/18's look too skinny.

Does anyone have any experience with these tires? Does anyone have this size mounted on the OE 18" rim? Toyo's size chart indicates it is okay to mount them on a 7" wide rim although 8" is preferred. They only weigh 5 pounds more per tire than the Goodyear so weight shouldn't be an issue.

Choices for this size tire are limited to the Toyo's, Kumho (only available by mail from Canada) and Pirelli (super expensive) so the Proxes seem like my best option.

Thanks for your help!

Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza (235/50/18)have been getting good reviews here on CL

Also there is Bridgestone Dueler H/P Sport (255/50/18)
Right now Bridgestone has a $100 Mail in rebate if you purchase & mount 4 tires
$100 Rebate Promotion

You would have to search the net but I have found that discounttiresdirect with free shipping is tough to beat as long as they have your tires. You can always check out Tirerack and compare tires to see which ones are the best .

How wide are the 19" wheels? 7, 8, or 9 inches wide? I'm concerned my 18" x 7" wheels will not be wide enough.

My 19" wheels are 8" wide. Staying at 7" wide you will have a larger footprint but not to much. You can call tirerack and ask them the width of the stock 18x7x 235x55's and then ask 245x55 how wide it will be then check 255x55 and see what they say. I am guessing you will gain 3/4" going to 255x55x18x7 myself.
