Really low mileage in stop and go traffic
So the last time I filled up my '07 RX350, I haven't done any freeway driving. Strictly city driving, mostly stop and go traffic to and from work. About half a tank left... I'm getting 15.2 MPG... YIKES. I usually get around 17 MPG with 100% city driving... but different this time around. No jump start accelerations and I try to coast to the red light most of the time. Anyone else get mileage this low before?

Local Mileage
I am seeing 14 in stop and go...I have been using regular gas...no performance issues at all but wonder about mileage...I know this has been discussed elsewhere. Also I am seeing 10% ethanol in NJ wonder how that contributes.
On highway trips I have gotten 22 plus a bit.

It is the power of the lowly insignificant "0" when you are stooped. Also when you try to move you are in 5-6 miles to a gallon range. This is the area where the hybrids shine .. till it comes time to replace batteries. ouch

We normally see about 15 to 17 if all city driving. However, this winter we have seen a low of about 13.5 for in town, stop and go driving. Be aware that most parts of the country are still using "winter" blend and combined with low temps, this seems to be a significant contributory factor to the lower fuel mileage.

OMG, is it really that bad? I'm usually around 19 or 20 city (or LA freeways). I drove back from Vegas yesterday averaging 25. I'm using 93 gas, my air filter's dirty and tire pressure probably isn't as high as it could be. Maybe it's because I'm in a FWD? Or maybe mileage improves in smoggy air :-)

The RX does great for highway driving... Last long trip to and from SF and LA averaged around 26 MPG. It's the city mileage that drives me insane, especially with the high gas prices.

I only drive 5km (3.5 miles) to work each way per day, and I also get crappy fuel economy.
It's just something you have to live with - my fuel economy is better than acceptable when I get a chance to do some easy freeway miles.

During the winter months in Montana, they use Ethanol gas mix. Better for the air, but kills gas mileage. Is it possible other states are adding it to their gas. The next time your at the pump, read the ingredients.
