1. What kind of octane should i be using?
Many people are using 87 octane regular gas with no problem. I seem to get better performance with premium and higher fuel economy so that's what I use. Over the course of 4 years I have averaged 22.3 mpg on my 04 RX330 AWD.
2. What kind of oil should I be using for oil changes? miles?
My preferred oil is Mobile One but regular dyno oil should be fine. Change every 6 months or 5k or 7.5k miles, whichever comes first.
2b. Should I be using same oil winter and summer? 5W20? 30?
Yes, 5w30 is recommended.
3. Best place to buy oil filter online? DIY

No fancy name. It's just called Light Grey Leather.
5. I want to buy leather conditioner? Any suggestions?
I think the best products for the leather are available from Lexus. They are inexpensive and really work well. Buy both the cleaner and the conditioner. A lot of people like Lexol but I find the smell objectionable. You may not.

You can actually make a request for a complete replacement user manual from Lexus on their website. This is a very thick manual. On-line you can do a search as a registered user in the Lexus site and you will find about 30 PDF's that you can dl individually but why bother. Just make the request for a replacement and they will mail you one. The request is not easy to find though. I'd first ask my Lexus dealer if they will provide it. If they wont, you can find this link by logging in to the Lexus "Owners" site and go to "Manage Vehicles". Next do a search with no items specified. When that comes up you should see the link for the replacement manual. PM me if you can't find your way to the link and I'll try to break it down into step-by-step instructions. Your Lexus dealer should help you obtain the manual though.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Hope this info is helpful.

Devin,
As suggested, my 05 330 gets along just fine with 87 octane - no pinging, hesitation, nothing. Oil is Mobil 1 5W-30. I am not sure if the 04's called for 5W-20 but my 05 needs the -30 stuff. Manual? Have you tried eBay Motors and looked under the literature section? I use the NAPA Wix oil filters, purchased locally. They have a great reputation, a great filtering media and seem to do the job quite well. I use Lexol leather cleaning product followed by their conditioner. I have been using this for years on my other leather cars and it REALLY does a nice job. I suspect that Lexus farms out all the car care products but I am sold on Lexol.

Jim,
Thanks a lot for your response. About the manual, I am in Canada and the canadian lexus site doesnt have the owner's manual online. Dealer wants $60 for it! I tried to make an account on the USA lexus site but they dont accept my VIN# . Is there a way if you can upload the manual to some site for few minutes and I can download it...

The OM is in about thirty pieces (PDF's) sorry. Looks like your best bet will be eBay. There are several available there and several are quite inexpensive.

Thanks Jim, no worries! Also, has anyone used Lexol. I am thinking of buying the cleaner and the conditioner but there is another product Lexol NF for tan color interiors? Any inputs?

You can always download the Manual from Lexus.com Owners page. Just create an account and enter your model #, if not yet done. Good luck.

You mean, other than me? Btw, I just did a search on eBay for 2004 Lexus RX330 Owner's manual and came up with multiple hits. Some as low as $20. For example:

Have used Lexol and Vinylex for many years. Stopped using Vinylex, glossy finish that does not work well with the Lexus interior, though I continue to use Lexol. Guess it has been some 15 years now. Works well in FL heat and PA cold. My last three cars have had tan leather interiors and I just use the standard stuff.

Thanks for this thread Devin, seems we share alot in common:

1. Both recent owners of '04 RX330's (picked mine up Saturday).
2. Both without owners manual (mine came with an Owners Manual Supplement) that is it.
3. My second key doesn't seem to work (whether that is because of a dead battery I do not know).
4. I too am from Canada (Ontario).

BTW, still looking for the spare tire, LOL! I checked in the rear cargo area, to no avail.

Club Lexus has already helped me out though. I believe the tire-press. warning light was going on (yellow symbol right-hand guage cluster) yesterday. I reset all the pressures (less the spare) to 30 PSI (as noted on the inside driver door) and pushed the little button under the dash. Light has not come on anymore since that time.

I will be calling the dealer (non-Lexus) for the manuals. If I come up short, guess it is e-Bay time 8^).

Thanks,
Brian.

Brian.
Under the rear bumper on the steel cable? Or is yours just missing?

Regarding the cargo cover. Have you looked in the two little pop up cubbies under the carpet in the trunk? I thought the lexus dealer didnt give me the cover either, till the sales women showed me that they had put it there and she slipped it on for me

Hi Grumpa72,

Sorry for my late reply (just came back from a week in Dallas Tx, for business). I will check this evening and let you know.

Cheers,
Brian.

Yep, spare is present and accounted for

My next challenge is to figure out how/why the rear wiper doesn't seem to work. I noted a switch on the front console (beside the frt/seat heater controls) but when I push it (even for a period of time) nada. I am wondering if the rear requires washer fluid, and if so, where does it draw from (the front resevoir)?

I am purchasing a set of owners manuals on-line today. Will be for a US car, but hopefully not wildly different than the Canadian spec cars. $32 US seems like a good deal (I would imagine the dealer is at least $50+).

Cheers,
Brian.
