Default Lexus finally replaced Brake Rotors, Pads & Shims -Free

Finally, after few rotors warped services failed to fix front brake vibration, I roughly pushed Lexus to apply TSB BR004-04, so not only they did replace the front discs (rotors), but also pads and shims according to the invoice. The car now has just under 32k mileage.

Invoice stated old brake pads were 8MM and Rotors were warped .009 inches. How bad is that?

I also noticed a small difference in rotors color. Now the front one looks little difference in color than rear (original) one. thanks.

well at least they fixed it. seems like you had to really push them though, sounds like great lexus customer care.

couple weeks ago, i brought my RX in for service and told them that my steering wheel shakes when braking going down hill. called me couple hours later and told me that they replaced front rotors and pads. best part is, it was all FREE!

Intreresting, my 05 has started doing this, also on a hard downhill. I'm scheduled in for a 30k service. Will be discussing warped rotors with our Service Manager.

Me, too. I am scheduled to come in and complain about this vibration I get when braking at 45 mph. It is not as annoying yet, but will eventually get there.

I do have to admit that I'm not exactly a conservative driver with either our RX or the IS. Dynamiting the RX brakes on several occasions from about 95MPH seems to have exacerbated the problem , and now I get slight shaking in the steering when the brakes get a bit 'warm'.

I recently had this done on my 2004 RX and had to pay for it. it was the first time, though, that I had brought this problem up. I do have an extended warranty, but they said it was a normal wear and tear issue and not a warranty issue.

If it is within the 50K warranty period, they can not deny the claim. Rotors should not warp. After the warranty, it is a different game. It should not cost a lot though.

well, my RX is out of the 4 year warranty but not the 50K mile part. I do have an extended warranty that covers though another 3 years
