Default 2005 RX330 Air Conditioning TSIB

Hi all,

I did a search but couldn't find anything....

I just brought my Rx330 to the dealer because I had some noise when I turn on the A/C like a whinning noise. I got a call from the dealer this morning and he said there is a TSIB for this. He said that the clutch on the A/C unit was causing the noise.

Anyone else had this problem or heard of it??

Thanks!

Yours would be the AC001-06R......moaning sound on 1500 rpm when you turn on the AC. They have to tear down the compressor and stuff.

Do you guys have a link to all the TSIB?

My car is still at the shop. They have to order the part. I think they are going to replace the entire A/C unit. Will know more later....

My 04 RX makes that sound. Do you know if that TSIB cover 2004 as well?

Yes, I've had my AC fixed, thanks to a TSIB. My 2005 was in for something else and the service folks notice the buzzing sound while test driving for the other service performed.

Well....you got lucky they were able to hear the A/C problem. My technician didn't believe it until I drove with him and he heard it. I just hope they don't mess up something else in my car!!

Some Techs know and try to pretend they don't! Some just go ahead and fix it, because they have done a ton of them!

Yeah, why wouldn't they do it? That way, they get paid from the manufacturer (Lexus).

from what i understand the dealers make more money performing srvices then doing warranty work. i had some stuff done on warranty that i had to talk the service advisor into doing.

Am1 is right, for example they get full tilt per hour rates when doing service work..like oil changes...and then get a negotiated warranty per hour work. Remember they can not exceed stated allowance for warranty work. even if they spend a ton of hours.....hence, they screw you by not performing the work as specified in the TSB, half hazard crap! Did you notice? They always destroy something....while doing warranty work.....you will find out sooner or later.....
