Default What Wax/Polish do you use?

Just wondering what kind of wax or polishing you used on your RX and how happy you are with it? How often do you apply?

I had used "Nu fFnish" (sp?) on different cars before but want to know if there is anything better out there.

Thanks for your inputs.

There is a special interest group on detailing. Nufinish is good stuff BUT if it gets on to unpainted plastic or black rubber you can never get it off.

I used to use Zymol until Costco stopped carrying it. Turtle Wax (cheap and it does the job!) I really can't see paying big bucks for wax. Wax is wax!

Most Lexus users use Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax according to this poll.

Any chance you're the same cat from Ze German forum?

Mine's really new, but tonight I used Poorboy's Pro Polish and followed with a coat of Four Star UPP sealant. If I top the sealant I'll likely use P21S carnauba.

Zymol always in my case. There is a difference in waxes. TurtleWax is no good (relatively speaking) but anything from Mothers, Meguiars, Collinite, Duragloss, Autoglym or Sonax will give pretty good results with out going over the top $$$ wise.

I'll continue using what I've used for years:

Polish: 3M
Wax: P21S

Wife had the car for a month now, and I'll be washing soon...

I use Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax myself. Always see them at the car shows, lots of guys use them at SEMA, seems to work very well for me (Southern California).

I was at the store today. I read the labels carefully but didn't find any mentioning regarding "Safe for clear coat" so I didn't buy one.

Is it safe for clear coat? Must be, since a lot of people are using it without complaining. But please confirm anyway. Thanks.

NXT? Absolutely - perfectly safe on your finish.

From Meguiar's...
After years of research into advanced polymer chemistry, Meguiar’s® has created a wax powered by Engineered Synthetic Polymer (ESP) technology. The result, NXT Generation Tech Wax®, is the most technologically advanced synthetic protectant for paint available for today’s modern finishes and clear coats. Our breakthrough formulation goes on and comes off easy without a powdery residue to visually eliminate fine swirls, protect against UV damage, and leave your finish “amped up” – with a deep, wet-look shine that is unbelievably intense. ESP technology creates a tough polymer bond for xtreme, durable protection.

I own P21S, NXT, Pinnacle Liquid Souveran, Pinnacle Souveran Paste, and a few other less known ones.

In my opinion, Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax is the best for solid darker colors, ie Black, Red, and even Yellow: http://www.autogeek.net/pinsouvwax.html

Pinnacle Liquid Souveran is the best for more metallic paints.
