Question 2005 RX330 Roof Rack Protector

Those rubber RX330 Roof Rack Protector keeps falling out when I travel, as I typically drive through some highly windy areas. See the thing sitting on top of the yellow knife in the photo. I have to pull over to the side of the road and try and jam them back in and pray they do not fall out again. How do I reseat them correctly in the track that they belong in?

Instructions or any other help greatly appreciated.

Another member posted a thread on removing the rack and installing filler strips, which I think would be info for what you need. I have not done this myself, so all I can do is hope it will help you.

It is somewhat lengthy and has photos in posts 1, 25,26,56 and 57.

I am also wondering, as my rx400h is missing one of those entirely.

Our 2005 has the same two strips, and my guess is that time and heat cause them to shrink enough to no longer stay in the tracks thru friction.

So I've successfully taken them out of the tracks, cleaned them and the tracks, and used a few pieces of double sided OUTDOOR mounting tape between them and the tracks to hold them in -- works great.

OUTDOOR mounting tape is the weather proof type, and they come in different strengths based on how many pounds (5, 15, 30 etc) they hold -- I remember I used a Scotch branded one, but don't remember the specifics.
