RX Dash Rattle
It's now getting cold here in the morning in DFW and my RX's dash is starting to rattle like crazy. It's coming from the center on top of the Nav screen. The rattle is more pronounced when the interior is just getting warmed up. The rattle settles down a bit but still there after a few minutes of driving. I was embarassed to drive it around with my visiting relatives this weekend because of the rattle. I've taken it twice to the dealer during summer, both were blamed on loose vent clips. It did not totally fix the rattle, it was back after a few days. I know lots of 330 owners have complained about this issue but I'm curious if the 350 owners are starting to have dash rattles since the cold season is upon us.

So it seems toyota/lexus already knew the problem since RX330 but didn't fix it.

I knew about the dash rattle before I pulled the trigger on my RX. It was well documented. I was hoping I'd be one of the lucky ones, I guess not. It'd be nice to hear from the 350/400 owners if they are experiencing dash rattles still.

Same Problem
I just purchased my new RX about 2 months ago. The same problem is there, the noise is coming from the center/top of the console(rite above the NAV Screen). I called the dealer, im taking it in for service this weekend. Will keep you posted on what they fix or dont fix for that matter.

Had our 330 in 3 times to get rid of noise. It is better but not 100% so. U would think that in 2-3 years they could find & fix this. We purchased ours after the lease was up so I will have it till the '09 RX is out. DO U THINK BY THEN THEY WIIL SOLVE IT?

I got the car back from the dealer, pins were insulated to correct the rattling dash when it's cold. So far, (2 wks) it has been noise free. I hope it stays like that. During our trip to West Texas on Thanksgiving weekend, the AC quit blowing cold air. Dealer replaced lines that were leaking. They kept the car for 2 nights to fix all problems and provided me with a loan car. All free of charge. Thanks to Sewell Lexus for a great service!!

I have the same problem with the dash rattleing above the NAV.
If I take it back to the dealer and the dash does not rattle then would they still fix it? Because like RX_brain said that it stops after the cabin gets warmed up.
I would not want to just drive 80-90 miles to the dealer and they say no...I would be pissed.
Thanks for the responses in advance!

My best buddy also has an 04 RX. The dealer tried three times and failed to quiet the rattle. My friend bought some foam pipe insulation and jammed it up there and he said it is now as quiet as a church.

Took my '06 RX400h to dealer and they fix the rattle by insulated some of the pins. No rattle anymore.
First dealer won't fix it since they couldn't duplicate the issue, but I asked them to fix it because it was my 2nd time to take it there and wasted my time. Then they agreed to fix it.

Where to stuff it?
I have the same problem with my 04 RX. Spoke to the dealer today, and they told me to bring it in."They have a fix for that " they said. I really don't want to get ripped by the dealer especially when it's not under warrenty no more. Where do i stuff the insulation? Noise seems to be coming from above the Nav. Thank You !!
