You can get them that cheap in Florida too but it seems that other places aren't stocking many base models. Florida and Cali have tons of base models. Did you get the cloth interior?

I'm looking to replace my 2001 RX300 AWD with 49K miles. Drove an AWD RX350 over the weekend and LOVED it...

Anyone have any leasing experience in the east with AWD w/o nav... how does "Dec to remember" affect all of this?

How about trade-in?s... have to do it, last time that I will. Any tips on that? Have researched KBB, Edmunds, NADA, etc. but they are lowballing me.

Could not help you with the leasing advise and don't know if Dec to remember applies to 2007 cars, but I can advise on the trade in. I sold my 02 pathfinder in Sept, local Lexus Dealerships offered $7500, high trade in KBB was $10,100. Going advertise used was $13,000-$15,000. I started looking at medium size dealerships and wanting at least $10,500 and asking $11,000. I went to three, the first one offered $9500, second one offered $9000, but last one I got what I needed $10,500.

It turns out, the medium to small dealerships are the middleman. This is how it works in my area (Orange County very populated) , say the large dealerships buys my car for $7500 on a trade-in, if the car is something they want to sale in their used car lots, it goes into their mech to get certified, but most likely they will sale it to a small to medium dealership for say $10,500, they make $3000 profit immediate...so try to find the small guy

Default that's good advice

... but try finding a "small to middle size" dealer in NYC area! They are all monster conglomerates, hi-volume guys.

But very helpful to keep in mind... thanks.

I'm not sure if the AWD model has the same packaging as the FWD model.
Will pick up new 350, awd. prem.+, nav. and wheel locks, around the middle of december. msrp $45,706. Had similar problem dealing in SC, also thought of buying in Calif. and have shipped but trucking quotes were all over the place. $1200-1800 and up. Then have to decide if inside trucking worth the extra, probably in the winter. Didn't want to deal with purchase sight unseen. Finally purchased for $40,899.00. That included a -$750 taste of lexus coupon and + $349.00 doc fee. Got a Lexus Visa card and with the promo's got $1000.00 in service/lexus items which I look at as cash. Bottom line is that the dealers don't usually move much in southeast, don't think they do the volume but if you're patient and not in a hurry you can do ok.

I recommended my aunt to buy an RX350 where I bought my RX330 and she paid $37,500 out the door for an 07 RX350 FWD w/ Premium Plus. (This is in South Florida.)

They still had some 06 RX330's in stock (brand new) selling for $34k.

Where in SC? And did the total price include the 1000 in cash?

Please clarify. I think you meant $37,500 before taxes, licenses and fees. Which makes it Appx. $42k - 43k OTD. Otherwise, you received the best deal I've heard. Does it include nav?

From your post, you money factor is high but since you made a security deposit, it could be because you don't have Tier1+ credit. If you did, which is FICO 730+, you should of recieved 0.00133, that is if the dealer wanted to be fair, Tier 1 is 0.00143 right now which I believe is FICO 700+. So unless your credit is below 700+, it seems you paid alot more than many others. If you see my previous post, I'm paying $471 for 36 months, 18K a year. I have the RX350 FWD, almost fully loaded, navi, premium plus package. MSRP 44146.

It's too late now so just enjoy the car.

Moolman,

Thanks so much for your reply and your posting. I went down to the dealership in Northern California and told them that I was disgusted with the car knowing that I could be saving over $100/month based on the money factor (car was leased under my girlfriend's name). Long, long story shorter.

Thanks to the detailed information you posted, I was able to put a cohesive argument in favor of the dealershiop re-opening the deal to allow me to add myself on the lease. Coupled with the fact that based on principle alone I was willing to go to El Monte, which would have been an $8,800 savings over the term of the 48 month lease we agreed to. The dealership estimated around a $5-6k ding for an early lease termination.

I told them I'd be getting another one, and wanted to do business with them but was willing to terminate the lease based on principle alone (i still would've come ahead after 4 years). THE DEALERSHIP REOPENED THE DEAL!!!!!

Since my girlfriend was already on the lease, we didn't qualify for tier 1+ money factor, but together my credit bumpeD her up to tier 1. My credit score was 723 (7 points shy of the sign and drive tier 1+ money factor), and my girlfriend's was 625).

Our MSRP was higher than yours at $40,500 the rest was the same except the money factor and the fact that they transitioned our $675 deposit into a down payment. Final monthly payments went from $660/month to $535/month!

And to answer another one of your postings, yes it's .15 cents per mile pre-pay and .20 cents after the fact. My dealer said that they always negotiate the extra miles if you return 6-months early and roll into a new car. fyi.

THANKS MOOLMAN!!!!!!!

No problem,
Great job getting to renegotiate, that's usually real hard to do.

Why don't you list all the details for everyone so that others can get the benfiit of reading your deal. Like MSRP, residual, purchase price, money factor etc.

The first thing you should do is fix your girlfriend's credit.

no.....$37,500 out the door w/ tax, title and tag fees. (she paid cash by the way.. so more bargaining power there..) no navigation, just the premium plus package. she pulled a really good deal because in the span of a month....i bought an RX330, my boyfriend's cousin got an IS350, and my aunt got the RX350.

i was also initially getting haggled and i marched right into the general manager's office demanding the deal i was told over the phone. so, after he took care of me, i referred two more people to that lexus dealership.

Okay, thanks for clarifying. Even without Nav, that's an excellent deal!

I'll ask my girlfriend for the details, which still doesn't beat your deal! Thanks for the tip on the credit, I'll see if I can help her clean it up.
