Default Chip on steering wheel :(

I don't know how this happened but the under side of my Wood steering wheel has a chip in it.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I thought maybe get some acrylic plastic and then sand it with sand paper but I have no idea how to even start to do this.

Has anyone had small chips in the steering wheel, either by accident or by defect?

Nick

I also have a small chip/nick/dent in the wood steering wheel.. Acutually the wood steering wheel is quite fragile. I try to keep my nails off the wood trim, or I try to keep my nails short as possible...

The area you are asking us to look at is out of focus.

Try again.

Show it to your service writer. They sometimes have guys that can repair both the wood and the leather on the steering wheel. The Lexus dealer I worked at had someone that repaired our used cars all the time. But as someone else said try to keep both your nails and any rings off the wood. I have a habit of tapping my rings on mine and I had to stop before I chipped mine up too.

Default Try vehicle touch-up paint!

I had a small chip in the rosewood of the steering wheel of my ES 300. I hated it because I'm always touching that spot, and it seemed to be getting worse. My husband had the genius idea to try a little of his touch-up paint from his burgundy truck - it worked beautifully and matched the color amazingly well! And it didn't cost us a dime! :-)

Default Try clear nail polish!

Surprisingly, a quick coating of clear nail polish seems to do just fine. Low cost and easy remedy. Best of luck!
