Extended Warranty
Has anyone purchased an extended warranty for their RX330? If anyone has please describe what type of extended warranty purchased and how much it cost.

I bought the 7-year, 100,000 mile warranty for $1606. It's bumper-to-bumper and includes tire road hazard, rental reimbursement, towing reimbursement, and travel and lodging coverage.

After Warranty
Was at dealer a few days ago & talked about buying our 2004 RX330 in Sept. when lease is up. They then said they suggest we purchase a extended warranty for 3 years?50K for about $1000.
If we turn it back in will they charge me for new tires as the present ones are just about worn out at 50K plus will they charge me for a new windshield as we have a small crack in it. Never did this before so any help would be great.
Do I buy it or just turn it in?

Can someone post the details of the extended warranty? or a link to the details?
I have had differing answers to what is and is NOT covered. I would like to read the entire contract.
Thanks !

The Gold plan doesnt seem worth it especially if you have Nav.
The Platinum plan looks good.... here is what is NOT covered:
[1] The Lexus Platinum Program covers virtually all mechanical components. Examples of items not covered include: Accessory Drive Belts; Batteries; Body Panels; Brake Linings, Pads, and Shoes; Bumpers; Carpet; Chrome; Clutch Friction Disc and Pressure Plate; Dash Cover and Pad; Door Trim, Handles, and Fabric; Filters; Fluids; Glass (including Windshield); Headliner; Heating Hoses, Lines and Tubes; Hinges; Hoses; Hybrid System Main Relays; Hybrid Vehicle Battery; Hybrid Vehicle Battery Module/Pack; Interior and Exterior Trim Moldings, including but not limited to Cup Holders, Ashtrays, Covers, and Vents; Lamps; Light Bulbs; Nuts, Bolts, Clips, Retainers, and Fasteners; Paint; Rotors and Drums; Rust and Corrosion Damage; Seat Covers; Service Plug; Sheet Metals; Shiny Metals; Spark Plugs; Structural Framework and Wells; Tires; Vacuum Hoses, Lines and Tubes; Weather Stripping; Wheels and Rims; Windshield Wiper Blades(Rubber Component)Mechanical failure of any other component is covered, provided that it's not a result of failure of any of these listed items. See your authorized Lexus dealer for complete details.
I think you will find that third party exclusion list is huge in comparison. Be careful and understand exactly what you are getting.

lexus does not offer any bumper to bumper extended warranties for any vehicle. All extended warranties (know as vehicle servce agreement) have a list of exclusions. The best covered plan is Platinum.
