Here's some interesting stuff I found under "future vehicles" on the Motor Trend Web site:

MY 2007: Lexus JX 470 - A new SUV for Lexus, based on the Sequoia

MY 2008: Lexus VX - "Larger than the RX, this new sport wagon will be derived from the GS platform. Look for V-6, V-8, and hybrid powertrains. "

MY 2009: Lexus RX Redesign

I think that if Lexus brings out the RX 350 any time soon, it will be basically the same car as the 330 with a different engine in it. Maybe a couple more bells and whistles to give the marketing people more to talk about, but essentially the same car.

There has been a lot of talk about needing more power in the RX, so they might just be considering the bigger engine in the short term. Personally, I think there would be plenty of power in the 330 if the ECU program for the transmission didn't suck.

Default price of fwd rx

Right now the dealers quoted me at $35,500 for an RX330 FWD w/o Navi and I'm thinking they might go lower especially with the release of the 350 in the coming months. I was thinking about getting the NAVI, since I'm probably going to spend a few thousand more if I get the 350. According to them, its 1000 off invoice, but I'm sure like I read here that there is a holdback they'll make money on. Wouldn't the 06' 330 lose resale value quickly if they released the 350? Any suggestions? Oh, I forgot to mention that some of these dealers are offering 5.25% APR, is that low?

What do you guys and girls think? Should I wait 3 months and pay a few thousand more for the new version or save a few thousand and get this model?
if you wait, you run the risk of paying full sticker until the popularity decreases plus there will not be any special rates. if you do something today, you can probably get 4.69% (the decemeber to remember rate)

Default More power

This has been addressed by the hybrid. More power is one of the big selling points.

the RX350 will feature the 2GR-FE engine which is the Avalon-Engine and which is common in any RX across the world and it meets new, reduced emissions as a world standard. it will have a shorter, smoother 5-speed transmission and jumps nearly as quick as the RX400h to 60mph in 7.8 seconds. it will generate 276HP, a little less than a LS430, have new damping here and there. fuel consumption will be 5% less than 2nd generation RX300 (europe). it will feature the new navigation system of the IS and air suspension can be ordered separately. price increase will be 2.5%. this car will be a ROCKET with low emissions and consumption at the same time!

what i still dont know if it will feature 1) smartkey 2) smog sensors 3) seat cooling. if anyone knows, please let me know asap.

I would be interested to see how the weight on this RX350 turns out to be. I know the RAV4 with the the higher hp engine is literally the same 3,700 pounds as an RX300 FWD model by my recollection.
