Default Multiple Bluetooth Phones

Much to my dismay, I just learned that I can only have ONE bluetooth phone active at a time. Both my wife and I have bluetooth phones and both have been paired with my 2005 RX330. However, when I drive the car, I must manually select my phone as the operable one; and when my wife drives the car, she must manually select her phone as the operable one. Boy is this dumb and antiquated. Like I've said before, Lexus' navigation and bluetooth technology is at least one generation, and possibly more, behind state of the art. This limitation is right up there with manually Overiding the navigation input restriction each and every time you start your car.

For comparison, I paired both phones on my 2004 Acura TL and both remain active. Thus, when driving my TL, both my wife and I can receive cell phone calls on our respective phones, albeit not concurrently. In fact, my TL can pair up to six phones and have them all active at the same time. I am so disappointed with Lexus' navigation and bluetooth technology shortcomings I'm beginning to wish I had purchased the Acura MDX instead of the RX330!

My wife and I just got an RX 350 a few weeks ago. Our other car is also an '04 TL, so I know exactly what you mean about how it handles multiple BT phones. I've also been trying to get this to work in the RX. I just came across this thread in the IS sub-forum:

In one of the posts, meteoro said he would try using multiple profiles to pull this off. Has anyone ever tried this in the RX?
