Default Lexus RX 330 transponder Key

Hi, I am new to the Club, I recently purchased a 2004 RX 330. It only came with one master key. I have been able to have two keys cut since then and have obtained a transponder. Can anyone send me instructions on how to program the new transponder?
Thnaks!

Hi Dave, welcome to ClubLexus!

We had to move your post to a new thread where it can be seen by our members. If you're looking for information on programming your transponder, click on the "advanced search" function above and enter " program key " into the search words, then select the RX forums as the place you want to search. I only searched the past three months, since I'd seen this question come up recently and our members came up with the solution. . . and a lot of valuable information.

Here's the thread I found, I hope it answers your question!

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-1st-gen-1999-2003/72242-successful-key-transponder-programming.html

With over 40 thousand members and several years of archived data, CL has a wealth of information on practically any Lexus product. The search function is a powerful tool that can open this information to you.

Thanks for your interest and best of luck with your key!

Ok, looked at that thread and it didn't help me .... I still can't get my 04 RX330 to recognize the new key. What are the tricks? Do I need to wait for the steering wheel to move and so on? The battery in the key seems good as it lights the LEDs when I press the buttons. If it matters, my key has the extra button for the power rear cargo door. I have tried both methods I have found, the one that involves pressing accel 5 times and the one with the door 6x. Has anyone successfully programmed a new transponder to an RX330?

Here is what I do.
1) Open car w/ the remote
2) Get in and close the door
3) press accel / brake simultaneously, hold for 1/2 sec or so, then release
4) Put the master key that works in the ignition, leave it in the lock position, sec light goes out
5) steering wheel moves by itself, wait for this to finifh (though I did it with and
without wait and it made no diff).
6) press accel 5 times in a few seconds (less than 5 definately)
7) Press the brake 6x.
8) pull out key, steering wheel begins to move, wait (or not, doesnt seem to matter) for the steering wheel to stop moving.
9) Put in the new key, security light flashing
10) press the accel
11) wait forever while security light flashes (definately at least 3 minutes)
12) If irritated enough goto 12 else goto 11
13) Get annoyed, get beer from ice box, goto #1.

Is it really this difficult?

Thanks in advance.

Everything else on the internet failed (including the procedure posted above), but this procedure worked for me on my 2006 RX330:

Hopefully this helps someone else.
