Mileage with RX400h
So, have over 5000 miles on the RX400h, and have been trying ways to get better mileage. Some things I've noticed, and the numbers are VERY ROUGH estimates only. I keep track of mileage between tanks using the LCD readout (not manually calculating it).
Removing weight, improved mileage by maybe .5 mpg? Removed spare tire and tools, removed roof rack, changed starter battery to lighter 12 pound battery.
Changed wheels to 15 pound Volk LE37N's, lowered car 1.25 inches (less air resistance), improved mileage by maybe 1 or 2 MPG? Not sure.
Between regular or premium, premium got me 2 or 3 MPG more!! Didn't expect this.
Exxon seems to get me the best mileage by 2 MPG per tank, every other brand about 1 to 3 MPG less.
Coasting for as long as possible and trying to use the motors instead of the physical breaks when breaking helps by 2 to 4 MPG.
Anyways, all rough estimates, I'm averaging around 30 MPG now, amazing car! I was getting around 25 before doing any modifications or driving style changes.
