Default OEM Rim Offset

What's the offset for the OEM RX330 17" & 18" rim and the RX400h 18" rim? Are they the same? I am trying to get a set of Gram Light rims from Tirerack but they said they are lot suitable on the RX, but I checked on the Japanese Rayswheel homepage and they listed 17x7.5 -30 offset for Harrier/RX.

For the RX330 18" the offset is +35.

Not sure about the 400H or the 17".

The 17" is also +35. I would bet the 400H also uses a +35, but I'm not sure.

I installed some 18x7.5 +43 offset wheels on my RX400h and it works fine. Then installed 15mm spacers and it still worked fine. Ride was MUCH more comfortable with the 15mm spacers, I guess when the wheels are too far in, it doesn't allow the suspension to absorb the shocks of the road as well?

Finally tonight I got my hands dirty (actually, my back dirty) and climb underneath the car from the rear side and check out the inside spoke of the RX400h. One spoke marks 18x7J, and another spoke marks 35, so I assume that the rims are in 18x7 with a +35 offset, just like the 18" on the RX330. So I guess whatever fits RX330 will fit RX400h.

What surprises me is that there is really little space between the rear shock absorber and the inside tire wall. I will say there's less than an inch, probably closer to 3/4" only. So, Tony, if you are running the +43 without the spacer you probably may run into problem about tire rubbing. With the 15mm spacer you are having 1mm more inner clearance.

Correct me if I am wrong, given the same width of rims (7"), as long as the offset number is less than the OEM 35mm, there should have no inner and brake caliper clearance issue.
