Default did someone forget the rain-sensing wipers on some RX400h's?

The manufacturer sticker on my 400 (non ML, non heated front seats, no headlamp washers ) that lists standard & installed options lists rain-sensing wipers but they are NOT nstalled.. What gives? Interestingly the MSRP on mine was $48,535.00 and now lexus.com has the MSRP as $48,410.00 and headlamp washers are no longer listes as an option.

That is strange... are the rain-sensing wipers listed on your sticker as standard equipment?

Edmunds.com is showing the same base MSRP as lexus.com is now - 48,410 (without destination charge). They also show that "variable intermittent wipers" are standard, and option HH includes the heated front seats, rain-sensing wipers, and the headlight washers.

The 330 has always been that way - variable intermittent wipers standard, and option HH has the same features. Alternatively, you can get the 330 with either option RS - just the wipers, or HS - the heated seats and the washers.

If your sticker says "rain-sensing wipers" somewhere, you certainly need to complain if you don't have it. If you do have it, there's a small black box glued to the windshield directly behind the rearview mirror, and the wiper control has an "AUTO" setting rather than "INT". They both have the variable setting ****, which is a bit confusing. It changes the timing on INT, but it changes the sensitivity with AUTO.

My factory sticker says rain sensing but no "auto" just "int "on stalk. The MB C class has had rain sensing wipers for a few years so not having this feature that was incorrectly listed on the lexus VIN/MPG sticker is disappointing. I wonder if I have the only car wrongly "stickered"

I'm not sure, but I thought they the rain sensing windshield wipers were part of the heated seats option on the 400h. In my area they are all coming with this option and headlamp washers and subsequent charges. Mine has these, but added charges for them. You'd need them in colder climates.

Exactly but my sticker listed them as standard equipment. I wonder if they listed them as standard and decided not to include them on a $50,000 SUV as standard equipment.

Default Rain-Sensing Wipers!

Effective with July Production the Base MSRP for the RX400h has been reduced by $125 from $48,535 to $48,410. The change is a result of rain-sensing wipers becoming optional, rather than standard equipment. The accessory package "HS", containing heated seats and headlamp washers, is no longer available as an option. This package has been replaced with the accessory package "HH". The new package "HH" contains heated seats, rain-sensing wipers , and headlamp washers. The MSRP on the HH package is $665, The MSRP on the "HS" was $540. This pacakge will be available as of July production.

You are right. Lexus is generously refunding me the $125 for their mistake.

Nice, but I have this feature turned off on my GS. During the summer, I found that they wipers would sometimes engage for no reason, leaving streaks on my windshield. And God forbid if I hit a bug, then I had a bigger mess. Maybe I'll turn this feature back on during the rainy season.

I don't think it's meant to be on all the time in the way that the auto headlights are. I think it's just supposed to be a more intelligent intermittent wiper feature.

I leave them on all of the time. We have a GX470 and a 06 GS430. They work excellent under any conditions. Sometimes (very rarely), in the morning, if there's a bit of condensation/fog on the windshield they will come on. The smearing effect of the wipers will fool the system into thinking it still needs to be on. For that, I simply pull the stalk to add a bit of windshield wiper fluid and it quickly fixes the problem.

Bugs have never set off the wipers.
