After almost 800 miles im getting about 24.3 MPG. I drive 19 miles to work everyday to NYC from NJ. I've noticed it has gone up from 23MPG to 24MPG in the last week, but i dont know if this is because of how i am driving or something to do with the car.
I dont't know if gas milliage alone is a reason to purchase a RX400h. The more i drive this car the more i realize that the "h" is just as much a preformance upgrade as it is a fuel saver. I have almost as much fun driving this car as i do my SC430, hmmm how about an SC430h!!!

1200 miles on the 400h and the average is 23.9 mpg. Mrs Flatfoot may have to change her name to Mrs. Leadfoot! I have driven the "h" for short distances and got as high as 36 mpg!
I think that you can achieve the mileage figures quoted by Lexus if you concentrate on it.
I am burning 87 octane in it.

RX400h mileage, fuel
According to owner's manual, 87 octane is acceptable but 91 octance is recommended for optimal performance.
I agree with lexedit72 on the fuel mileage. Given the price of the 400h and the price of 91 octane, you're not going to "get to heaven" driving it. The 400h's fuel economy is certainly superior to the RX330. The way I see it, if you're strictly interested in better fuel economy, that alone is not justification for buying the 400h. If you want to "get to heaven" fuel-wise, I think you'll be much better off buying a much less expensive fuel-efficient auto and pocketing the (substantial) difference in $$$$$$$$$$$$$, especially given that the 400h costs $50,000 and is selling for list price. I think purchasing a 400h is more about wanting to drive a Lexus that provides outstanding performance, luxury, reliability and cutting-edge technology and less about outstanding fuel mileage.

eh, using lower than reccomended fuel will worsen your mpg as well :-).
It seems that you can get pretty close to the official numbers if you are trying to, problem is that power gets addictive. nevertheless, 25mpg for V8 power is awesome.
You will not save enough gas to justify it over RX330, but you will spend a lot less gas than ML V8 or X5 V8 and even pay it less :-).
