Excessive Road & Wind Noise on 2005 RX
I took my new 2005 RX out on the freeway late this evening, and I can't believe how loud it is. I don't mean loud while sitting at an idle in your driveway, I mean out on the highway doing 50-60-70 mph.
At these speeds there seems to be very little muting of the engine noise, the wind noise is profound and invasive, and the road noise (tires) pervades the cockpit interior. I don't recall this level of noise on the RX300. Even on the boulevards at 40 mph, this car is practically howling ... well, singing anyway.
Is Lexus working on a fix or is this just the state of affairs for the new RX's?
Anybody have some suggestions, or know of any corrective action that Lexus has done or will do, in order to address these concerns?
Thanks in advance.

Something sounds weird, as I took mine out yesterday and it was silent... However, that was on asphalt and not concrete - concrete will make it louder. Which tires do you have - mine are the Goodyear Eagle RS-A's.

It was only the fron 2 windows that had the defective strip molding! There is a TSB for this, go to your dealer and he should know about it or at least look it up! Its well documented
