Taking delivery of a RX 330. Would appreciate your tips.
If all goes as planned, this weekend my husband and I will be taking delivery of a 2004 RX 330 (fwd, Silver/black) in Florida. This will be our very first Lexus. If you have any advice to offer on what we should look our for during the delivery process, we'd appreciate the input. Thanks.

Congrats!
The salesperson should be pretty thorough walking through the process of explaining the various features and controls. My dealer had a sales checklist that covered just about everything.
The one thing that most of the dealers seem to miss on the service department's version of the RX330 Pre-Delivery Checklist is calibration of the one-touch moonroof controls. If the moonroof doesn't operate fully with one touch of the button (like the power windows), it should, and they just need to make it work. (I don't recall the exact process off hand, but it is posted elsewhere in the forum. It's just a matter of opening and closing the roof fully by holding down the button, and then the computer learns where "open" and "closed" are.)
There's a similar process for the power back door as well. Test the back door to make sure it goes up and down by remote control like it should.
If you buy one without navigation, the compass needs to be calibrated, too. Again, it's not hard (drive around in a circle), but it's something the dealer should do before they send you off with the car.

Congratulations! The RX 330 is my first Lexus as well and I've owned it now for a month. Just took it in yesterday for its 1K service and all is well.
I don't really have any advice to give when you take delivery over the weekend. All I can say is enjoy it, as I am enjoying mine. All the best to you and your husband on your new purchase.
Safe driving!

To everyone, Thanks for the comments.
To rxdriver - I will look out for the things you mentioned. My husband wants me to print out your message, so we can bring it to the dealer with us. Thanks again. ;-)

If your has a Navagation system, watch tthe video and than go back and have the salesperson take you through the system functions. It is not hard, but a bit complex the first few times.

To follow up: We finally took delivery of a Silver (blk interior) RX 330 (fwd with the premium pack, power rear door, 18" wheels, wood steering wheel and *****, rain sensing wipers, tow pack). The delivery experience was unlike any other that we have ever had before! We were first presented with the keys (4 sets) and gifts which included 2 beautiful Lexus keychains and a large detailed Lexus US road map.
Next, we were given a complete tour of the dealership with customer lounge areas that looked liked the lobby of a luxurious hotel, and told about some of their dealer perks: free hand washes for your vehicle any time you want; free food and beverage throughout the day: "breakfast at 7 am and lunch is at 12 noon"; and several computers for internet access.
They had our RX 330 right inside the dealer show room where it was facing the two front doors! In the showroom, the salesman went over every single detail on our RX. He set up our seat memory, homelink, all our radio settings, and most of our other personal preferences. In parting, he also made sure we had his cell phone number, and said we could call him whenever we needed a service or had a problem with the vehicle, and that he would personally set it up for us and made sure we got special care.
I have to say, the whole experience was incredible; we felt like we had just joined a prestigous country club in addition to purchasing a great vehicle! ;-)

reb,
Congrats on your RX330 - you'll love it. we traded in an '01 RX300 (which my wife loved) and love the 330 even more. The dealer experience is typical of excellent Lexus service - this is the same type of delivery experience we had for the '01 & when we bought the '04, they had it inside (diff dealer) where it was much more pleasant (since it was August & HOT). This dealer had a separate "delivery room" for all new car deliveries. Very nice.
My delivery experience with Acura was similiar - but the waiting room amenities with Lexus are way better than Acura. Lexus does it right!
