Coin Holder for 330
Just traded my '00 RX for a '04, and the little 'box' in the console is not at all convenient for holding change. Used to put my change in the ashtray & the little holder to the left of the steering wheel on the old RX. Any suggestions as to what to use?

I used to use the ash tray in our old car but there's no ash tray (or cigarette lighter for that matter) in the RX 330 either. Can you say "cost cutting"? What I did instead was put a small plastic cup in the one of the two center console cup holders - I use that for change and tokens and I still have one cup holder slot left in the console area and another one to the left of the steering wheel.

Now if u guys had E-Z pass here in the northeast for tolls and bridges, you'll wouldn't need a coin holder. (lol)
I've read too that some restaurant drive thru's may also accept EZ pass for meals too.

In general, comparing the 330 to my beloved 300 --
Cons
The 330
-- does not have as smooth a ride (at least the loaner car I was in)
-- does not have as good visibility (probably due to the wide side bars and strange bump for the useless power lifter)
-- is 6 inches longer so several hundred parking places in Manhattan are no longer available
-- makes it impossible for a passenger to tell the driver "don't go over 90 MPH" (can no longer see the MPH from the passenger seat)
-- is expensive
Pros
The 330
-- is unbelievably plush and luxurious to be in
-- looks elegant
Personally, I think I'll skip the 330 -- I'm looking forward to the hybrid version of the RX -- that's exciting!

I had a wild idea but I have not tried it yet - the left side pull-out can holder is useless, so I plan to "close up" the bottom and use the shallow area for a COIN HOLDER. Anybody else consider this? If so, please post your idea on how to enclose the pull-out tray opening so we have a small coin holder!

in response to one of the "cons" of the 330 is the passenger cant see how fast you are going because the speedometer is located too deep in the dash...personally, i consider that a "pro" since i like being able to drive w/o my wife telling me to slow down now if they could only make it so the back seat passenger(mother in law) couldnt see my speed either..that would be even better!

Just had a thought after seeing someone else with one of those portable ashtrays- said can get them at Pepboys or Autozone. Looks like a small cup but maybe can put change in it and keep it in the holder to the left of the driver? I only use tollroads 2-3 times a month but I seem to collect change anywhere I go. I've been putting it in the center console in that little front 'bin' but it's hard to get it out of there (just lazy I guess). When not in use I could put that ashtray/coinholder in the console where no one could see it. I checked to see what Lexus had as far as a smokers package since I previously kept my change in the ashtray of my RX300, but this new ashtray doesn't seem like it would work.

I have been using a coin holder that I found in the checkout aisle at a hardware store. I simply leave it in the center console. It's easy to pull in and drop back in, since it's around 2" x 3" and fits in the smaller section in the console.
