Default ? re: sway bar end links

On my 99 RX I just broke one of the sway bar end links. I think I replaced these about 100K miles ago. I'm fairly certain that I bought the replacements from RockAuto; I never buy 'economy' but always buy 'daily driver.' But not sure what brand they were.

Anyways, I ordered a set (called 'stabilizer bar links'), again from RockAuto. Brand is AC Delco. Getting ready to install them I noticed something that I have never encountered. The nuts are 'flange nuts' i.e., the nut and washer are one-piece. The flange end of the threaded portion of the nut is perfectly round, but the distant part appears to have been slightly crimped during manufacturing, creating a slightly oval shape. I assume that this is to prevent the nut from getting loose, as the out-of-round inner threads will actually bite into the threaded shaft.

Is this normal? I have seen various ways to make nuts 'loose-proof' but this is a new one to me.

Sway bar itself has tow ends, so what about the nut for the other end?

Hold/lock is by proper-torque or by pin/staking-the-crown(if torquing is not an option) and in few cases by nylon end. Pre-deformed metal will mess up the threads of the bolt. Call the seller, they are are well established and should give you the right answer.
