Default Low RPM

Very rare, but sometimes my RX300 engine turns off while waiting on red light, no vibration. And when I start it again, starts like there was no problem. Just now I noticed that engine RPM is pretty low. On idle it shows about 500 rpm. I think it supposed to be more than that, right? I checked on my family's 2 other cars. Their RPM was close to 1000. I remember in old time carburator (probably I spelled word wrong) cars you could do some adjustments. Is here any possibility to make my RPM higher by myself?

i would consider checking all your vac sources and smoke test if necessary to identify any vac leaks...but yes you can mechanically raise your idle by tightening your throttle cable adjustment screw.

Could also be a sticking idle air control valve. A vacuum leak will typically cause the car to idle faster than normal, not slower. Normal idle rpm should be 700 +-50 rpm.

I would suggest to read up the IACV DIY.
