Default Ashtray Bulb

Which bulb would fit the ashtray bulb? Also, where can I buy a LED bulb?

I would suggest visit/call local dealer. Physical size (fitment) eliminates lots of alternatives.

I believe it's the same size bulb as the one in your gear shift, possibly the same as the center cluster bulbs.
I use ebay for my LEDs.

Cool

Try DDM Tuning they only sell led bulbs, they also have tail light bulbs using the Cree LED chips that will give you sunburn when hit the brakes that's how bright they are. They also now have LED bulbs and the HID bulbs as low as $38 I've been using the bulbs now for six years no problems. I use the HID's in my RX 300 along with the new superbright taillights that people really see the light at the brakes. They also have now back up like using the Cree chip that almost blind to almost as bright as the LED headlights. The website www.DDM tuning.com phone number 714- 901- 5080 there in Huntington Beach California. One more thing make sure you specify the brightest LED taillights if you decide to buy them and the tell them you want the Cree chip bulbs your running lights almost like brake lights in the brake lights are insanity.

Thank for your help guys. The last thing is that I don't know the bulb size. I already called my local dealer and they gave me the part number. However, it doesn't help all that much. Plus. they were overpricing a small bulb that will probably only lasts a year or so (I think they charged me around $30-$50 for a bulb, and this is not including labor!).

Can anyone help me determine the bulb size? I have a chart here in case if anyone was curious. I don't know which category the ashtray bulb belongs. I'm guessing it's the courtesy light bulb, right?

What was the dealer part number?

The only short life bulb was the "D" bulb in the cluster but the replacement has been working for years. Never had any problem with any other bulb in RX. But $30 is indeed steep.

The link you provide did not work for me.

Getting that bulb out is a major PITA. Have to take out the entire center console and flip it inside out to get in there.

The part number for the ashtray bulb is 81205-48011. I've decided I want a LED so I won't have to take apart the whole middle console out again (or at least not take it out for many years to come).

Here's a better link.

I did a quick search and you can purchase (mail order) OEM from Lexus dealerships for about $15 ...
But
Take a serious look at the part shape, I doubt that you can find another source of light that can be transformed to the required shape.

If you figure it out, please post, so that other may be able to mimic your solution.

You'll need to exert a little pressure to insert the bulb in the socket but it works great.
