Transmission Or Electrical Help!!
Hi Guys. Hope you can help.
Bought a Rx300 2003 newer shape last month. It drove fine when i got the car.
When I drive the transmission will suddenly drop a gear and jolt down. then its seems to jump again.
Now I know your all going to say definatley a gear box issue. But there are 2 things. firstly its not doing all the time, only now then.
Secondly, and this is what makes me doubt gearbox.
It rained very hard the other evening and the sunroof leaked quite badly. Seats soaked, carpet drenched and water had run down the front pillars.
Ive dried it all out and sealed up the sunroof to stop it happening again. Could it be the electrics have got damp and its confusing the ecu in to doing odd things?
Any advice

Welcome to CL.
Have you read the owners manual and confirmed that the Check engine light + other warnings light up when you move the key from ACC->Run (before start).
Other than the owners manual, please read the sticky threads.
Roll back the carpet to see how much rain water has entered. If you did not leave the sun-roof open, then most likely rain would have gotten in before. Once you get water penetration, the electronics start behaving badly.
