RX300 Antenna Issue - Motor Runs Short Time

Pull the antenna mast and make sure it's not binding.
Pull the motor from the unit and test it for resistance.

My guess is the motor.

Answering your question - the antenna is "smart". The radio head unit simply sends a voltage signal to the antenna. Voltage - UP, no voltage - DOWN. I know this because I have my wire cut and switched with a switch I installed in the glove box. I keep it off 99% of the time since I am listening to satellite radio and don't want the antenna up.

Your antenna starting and stopping its movement is all happening within the antenna itself.

Interesting, so the head unit provides voltage the entire time it wants the antenna up?

In a few days should have the answer - Ordered another Complete Antenna and going to find if it is the small board that is causing this to happen.
