Car in P, showing R... but really in N?
Hey everyone,
Having quite an issue that I haven't seen addressed in the forums and I need to know if anyone knows what's wrong and if I should attempt to fix this issue or kiss my poor RX300 good bye.
Yesterday, car drove fine. I parked it and didn't go back out to it until today. When I tried to start it, it made no sound but all the displays came on along with the a/c. Thought it was the battery and changed that out. Still no luck starting. BUT, that's when I noticed that while the shifter was in park, the display said "R". When I got out of the car, I noticed that it rolled a little, so I gave it a little push... and it rolled like it was in neutral. (Yikes!)
Here's what I did:
*Checked the brakes - they were fine
*Manually overrode the autolock release - this had no effect
*Reset the ECU - this reset the clock and all my presets but did nothing to the P-R-N problem.
I'm out of ideas... and since I know my car is only worth about 3-5k... I'm afraid I'll need to scrap her.
If anyone has any ideas, please let me know!

WE FIGURED IT OUT! Well, my boyfriend did, anyway.
Okay, for those of you with the same issue, he actually found the issue and answer in this thread:
