Default "Rear Light Failure Warning Light" stays on

I have changed every rear lightbulb.

The one on each side rear bumper are working.

The warning light still won't go off.

Is there any way to disable the warning light?

Help Help Please

What about the one way high up on the tail ... generally referred to as 3rd brake light.

Check with the dealer. There was an issue with the rear light control module on these cars - they might be able to tell you if that's the problem.

Also there is a 'tail light' and 'brake light' ... 2 different warnings.

Does the warning light come on on first application of brake and turn off when you start without the foot on the brake?

How are the tail light and 3rd brake light dashboard indicators different?
t
I had the two tailight indicator on on my dashboard.. It turned out the 3rd brake light was blown. I replaced it with a led. Works great but the imdicator is still on when i first step on the brakes and stays on. The led puls only 1.5 watts but output is 180 lumens. Others have said the current draw is too low compared to the ffactory 7440 bulb that pulls 25 watts.

The sensor measures the current. With LED you get less current draw and hence the light bulb out warning pops up.

I got the same problem too when the rear mount stop is 5w bulb. I change mine to 25w and the dash light disappear. Btw, I read somewhere that the factory spec is 921 which is 18w.

Please use the exact spec. Higher wattage may not trigger the warning, but the extra heat will melt something.

Thank you for reminding me, I have some concern about the melting too. I'll find the exact one before the problem occurs.
