Default New Tires

I have had my Michelin Cross Terrains 235-70-16 for almost 8 years as I have had shorter commutes living in Miami than when I was in Mexico, but made a decision to get some new tires two days ago and wound up getting these, https://m.pepboys.com/tires/details/...1/574129/00157

We already have their Wildpeaks on our 4Runner and they have been good tires. It had a good treadwear and warranty, plus made the decision to move back to stock 225-70-16, but the ride still feels much like my Cross Terrains when they were new. We will see how these hold up under South Florida heat.

Really do not hear much noise with them nor issues with wet conditions, Wildpeaks definitely made for the 4Runner.

I've had Falken Zeix STZ tires on our 2001 ML320. Great tire in all conditions , but no longer made when I was shopping around for them for the rx300. I had considered the wildpeaks, but the A/T tread profile looked too aggressive for daily driving. Noise was a big concern.

I just got new tires last week as well, at an excellent price.

Cooper CS5 Grand Touring for $410 on DTD ebay, and they had a $100 instant discount so only paid $310. Cooper also has a $70 rebate, which I just got the email for stating I was approved, so I'll get that in 5 weeks. After rebate I'll have only paid $240 for four tires. Installed them for $72 at Walmart with lifetime rotation/balance, and sold my old ones for $80.

The Coopers' ride really well, and are incredibly quiet. I look forward to many more miles on these!

I just got a set of Prodigy H/T tires from Discount Tire for my RX300 (considering the KBB value of the car is about $3000, I didn't want to spend a lot - got them for $300 after a $100 adjustment for the Goodyear Integrities which wore out prematurely)). They are OK but ride harsher than the Integrities and are quite a bit noisier (sound a bit like a 4WD pickup truck).

Oh, well, live and learn!
