Sepertine Belt Alternator
RX 300 1999
I need some help I change the power steering and alternator belts and everything went fine except I completely removed the adjuster bolt for the alternator and now I can not find the bracket or nut it screws into. I know where it came out of and spent over an hour trying to figure out where it screws back into.
Does any one have any experience with this? What should I be looking for? if a bracket or nut fell off when I removed the bolt it would have fallen straight down on to my drive way as I have all the skid plates off. Without it the belt screams like a banchee there is no where to get a pry bar or big screw driver in under the alternator to get any leverage on it to get it tight enough.
Thanks,
John

Please check Lexus of South Atlanta web site for parts and prices. You can choose to buy local as the retail price should be the same. I think the part should cost about $10.00.
There are 3 anchor points and one of then is part of the adjustment. Dont jury rig it.

Figured it out adjuster bracket is on a swivel and if you remove the belt and feel around you will find it takes two hands but you can swivel the bracket up and get the get the adjustment bolt restarted. All good now.
