Default Which spark plugs to use

Rx300 2000 AWD with 196k. Trying to improve the mileage from 16mpg.history shows last plugs were changed at 60k. Currently it has denso ik20. Need advise to change to better one and where to find a good deal on spark plugs.
Thanks in advance

Follow the Owners Manual. Hard to beat Amazon. You are not going to get much better than 16 mpg around town.

The OEM denso sk20r11 uses a better material for the ground electrode compared to the ik20 for service life longevity but the performance would be virtually identical.

i rotate between amazon, rockauto and sparkplugs.com for best pricing an apply their monthly coupon codes when possible.

I am also looking to replace my spark plugs in near future on my 2001 FWD. Please can someone comment on the Denso plug that we need. I found the following 3 Iridium plugs on Rockauto. Is #5304 the one?

DENSO 5304 **#IK20} Iridium Plug; Iridium Power Info

DENSO 4702 Iridium

DENSO 3297 **#SK20R11} Iridium Plug; Iridium Long-Life Info

The BKR6EIX-11 NGK Iridium is an excellent plug as well. However the Denso SK20R11 is constructed better for longevity.

Center electrode for the NGK is 0.6mm and ground electrode is nickel.

Center electrode for the Denso is 0.7mm and ground electrode is platinum.

The NGK IFR6A11 mentioned in the manual has been discontinued.

I changed spark plugs a year ago, changed MAF, knock sensors, idle etc.. all genuine parts. I do 18 MPG around town but only 17.9 on the highway.. anyone knows how this could be???
I thought about spark plugs but they are not a cheap replacement. Sometimes I smell gasoline tho... maybe I should replace them with the better top of the line that someone mentioned on a prior post?

if your plugs were gapped correctly a year ago and the proper heat range, they should not be the problem. I'd suspect oil in the intake tract through your pcv is causing your poor mpg.
